If you’re in need of some downtime but aren’t ready to completely shut off your brain, a video game with an engineering slant might be the perfect happy medium. Engineering.com has created a list of its top ten video games for engineers, including younger, tech-savvy engineers-in-waiting.
Topping the list is Kerbal Space Program, a physics based rocket science simulator that has partnerships with NASA and United Launch Alliance, and challenges users to “take a fledgling aerospace industry and reach the stars,” according to the site. Also on Engineering.com’s list is Spacechem, a puzzle-based game that challenges players to refine raw materials into usable chemicals “by setting up complex machines and interactions between the materials at your disposal.” The rest of the best include Beseige, The Incredible Machine, Factorio, Fallout 4, Minecraft, INFRA, SimCity and Tetris.
