Pandemic-induced remote education has left some parents scrambling to set up an environment conducive to learning. To help ease the strain, Eastman Chemical delivered around 1,500 lap desks to students in Springfield, Mass., home to one of the specialty chemical company’s plants, according to an article from WWLP. The lap desks are reportedly made of Eastman Spectar copolyester.
According to the article, Elias Brookings Elementary School Adjustment Counselor Gianna Allentuck, who serves as a member of Eastman’s Community Advisory Panel, encouraged the company to produce the desks. The desks are designed for comfort and can reportedly be used on a bed or couch.
