Product Availability Appeals to Everyone

Oct. 9, 2008
Here’s a guide to using our online New Product Resource Center.

As I referenced in my September column, www.ChemicalProcessing.com/articles/2008/156.html, ChemicalProcessing.com has put the finishing touches on our New Product Resource Center and we’re ready to show it off to the world.

Like any new gadget, the bells and whistles of New Product Resource Center will take a little getting used to. Therefore, this month’s column focuses on how it can work for you.

Accessing the New Product Resource Center
There are several ways to access the center:
1. Typing the URL www.ChemicalProcessing.com/vendors/products/index.html into your Internet Browser
2. Entering through our top gray navigation bar, specifically the one labeled “Vendor Offerings” and then “New Product Resource Center”
3. Using our newly created Product of the Week portal on the www.ChemicalProcessing.com homepage.

Using the New Product Resource Center
Once you’ve arrived at the center, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new features:
1. Search Products: Start here if you’re looking for a particular product model or product name.
2. Filter Products by Category: The following categories can be searched within the new product database: Environmental protection, fluid handling, heat transfer, instrumentation, materials of construction, operations management, powders and solids, process control, reliability and maintenance, safety, separations technology, software, utilities and energy
3. Subcategory: Each category offers a number of subcategories to search from. Environmental protection, for example, includes the subcategories of air and waste management services.
4. Manufacturer: Use this feature to find all products in the database by a particular manufacturer.

Additional Features of the New Product Resource Center
Once you’ve found your products, you can sort the findings by:
• Date Posted,
• Category,
• Type,
• Manufacturer.

A photograph accompanies most of the products in the database. Also included in the listing is contact information for the manufacturer, and a brief description of the product.

New Products Bulletin offers monthly access to database
With hundreds of products in the database, it can be daunting to search all of the products at one time. The editors of ChemicalProcessing.com have taken the guesswork out of the process by offering a New Products Bulletin. Providing the latest information on new products available for process and plant optimization, the bulletin is intended for all chemical processors.

Each month’s bulletin highlights a dozen new products, including ones featured in a new ChemicalProcessing.com feature:  Product of the Week

What are you waiting for? There are products out there that need to be searched, purchased and used.
