European groups aims to recognize people in two specialties

The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), Brussels, is looking for entries for its 2016 Excellence Award in the Mechanics of Particulate Solids and its 2016 Distinguished Lecture in Thermodynamics and Transport Properties.

The triennial excellence award aims to honor a PhD thesis or associated paper(s) of a researcher or engineer that demonstrate(s) an outstanding contribution to research
or practice in the mechanics of particulate solids. The award includes a certificate, a prize of €1,500, and a travel grant and fee waiver to attend the International Congress on Particle Technology, PARTEC 2016, to be held in Nuremberg, Germany, in April 2016.

Any PhD supervisor at a PhD-awarding institution in an EFCE member country or a member of an EFCE member society can submit a nomination. For more details, see:www.efce.info/ExcellenceAwardMPS.html.

The distinguished lecture will recognize an outstanding research career and achievements in thermodynamics and transport properties. It will be presented at a plenary session of the 14th International Conference on Properties and Phase Equilibria for Product and Process Design (PPEPPD), to be held in Porto, Portugal in May 2016. The winner will receive a certificate, a prize of €1,500, and a grant and fee waiver to attend the PPEPPD meeting.

To be nominated, a person must be senior researchers working in an EFCE member country. More details are available at: www.efce.info/Distinguished+Lecture+in+TTP.html.
