ROMeo release allows information to be openly shared using OPC-UA standard.

Invensys Operations Management has released Version 6.0 of its SimSci-Esscor ROMeo optimization software, incorporating four new refinery process models that simulate and optimize reforming, coking, isomerization and visbreaking units. Designed to function as an integrated online and offline optimization solution for the refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries, the SimSci-Esscor ROMeo optimization software handles equipment monitoring, utilities optimization and material balance in open- or closed-loop mode.

Information can be openly shared using the Object Linking & Embedding for Process Control-Unified Architecture (OPC-UA) standard, which allows the ROMeo software to communicate with other simulation and workforce enablement offerings such as DYNSIM, PRO/II and ArchestrA Workflow software, or other third-party products that use the standard. It also allows users to build on and unite existing automation and IT systems with technology applications from Invensys, its ecosystem partners and other third-party providers.
