EFCE Expands Process Intensification Honors

Group adds industry-focused award to research-oriented one

The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), Brussels, has launched an award for achievement in industrial implementation of process intensification. The first EFCE Process Intensification Award for Industrial Innovation will be presented at the fifth European Process Intensification Conference, which will be held in Nice, France, from Sept. 27 - Oct. 1, 2015.  

The award is open to any employee or team of a company with operations in member countries of the EFCE. The winning development must have been developed between Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 31, 2014, and be at either the pilot-plant or industrial stage. The winner will receive a sculpture, a travel grant and a waiver of fees at the conference. Click here for more details on nominations.

Meanwhile, EFCE has issued a call for nominees for its Excellence Award in Process Intensification. This biennial award, which will be given for the fourth time in 2015, recognizes an outstanding PhD thesis in the field of process intensification at an institution in an EFCE member country. The 2015 award will honor a thesis defended between Dec. 16, 2012, and Dec. 31, 2014. The winner will receive a €1,500 prize as well as the opportunity to make a presentation at the Nice conference.
