The Hydraulic Institute announced the dates of its upcoming variable speed drives four-part webinar series.

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) announced the dates of its upcoming variable speed drives (VSDs) four-part webinar series. The opening session is September 9, 2014. Participants who complete the full series earn four professional development hour (PDH) credits directly from HI.

Webinar participants will learn how to significantly improve pump systems reliability when using variable speed drives. The series covers how VSDs may be used to accommodate duty cycles with variable flow and head as well as applications to avoid. Energy optimization, life cycle reduction, single-phase to three-phase power conversion and inrush current reduction will be discussed in the series.

The schedule for the variable speed drives four-part webinar series is:

·         Session 1 – Intro 101, September 9, 1-2 p.m. EDT

·         Session 2 – Application & Installation Considerations, September 11, 1–2 p.m. EDT

·         Session 3 – Protection for VFD and Proper Output, September 16, 1-2 p.m. EDT

·         Session 4 – Troubleshooting Problems with VFDs, September 18, 1-2 p.m. EDT

Advance registration is required and HI members and standards partners receive a 25 percent discount off the regular registration fee for the series.
