Velocys and Shiloh Industries Partner to Expand Smaller-Scale GTL Processing

March 21, 2014
The two companies have agreed to improve the manufacturing of Velocys' FT reactors.

Velocys, developer of Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reactors, and metal products supplier Shiloh Industries Inc. have partnered to develop smaller-scale gas-to-liquids manufacturing.

The two companies have agreed to improve the manufacturing of Velocys' FT reactors. The partnership will also examine ways to enhance the effectiveness of the whole GTL plant and explore other opportunities in the oil and gas market. Shiloh is investing several million dollars in manufacturing resources, as well as making available a dedicated team of engineers.

Together with Shiloh, Velocys’ supply chain can support annual FT reactor orders sufficient for 10,000 barrels per day (bpd) of annual production and has plans to enable expansion to 40,000 bpd per year in time for order growth.
