New At-Home Test Reveals PFAS Levels In Blood

CDC says 97% of Americans have “forever chemicals” in their blood.

A new, at-home test from EmpowerDX allows individuals to see the level of “forever chemicals” in their blood with just a finger prick, according to CBS Denver. Global laboratory company Eurofins reportedly analyzes the at-home samples and uploads the results to a private portal. 

According to CBS Denver, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says 97% of Americans have some level of the chemicals – perfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS – in their blood due to the chemicals’ presence in common household items. PFAS are linked to a variety of health concerns including cancer and reproductive issues. The tests reportedly check for several PFAS compounds.
