Oil-Free Rotary Screw Blowers Target Industrial Applications
FS-Curtis introduced the BWV Series oil-free rotary screw blowers, designed to provide clean air for industrial applications with energy savings of up to 35% at higher pressures, according to the company.
The blowers use direct-coupled permanent magnet motors and variable-speed drive technology to improve energy efficiency. An inlet duct design supports stable operation and low noise levels, while PTFE-coated rotors provide corrosion resistance for oil-free air delivery.
The series features an iCommand-Touch+ controller with real-time monitoring and diagnostics. Its modular construction, compact footprint and reduced number of wear parts are designed to simplify maintenance.
The blowers are intended for wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, petroleum refining, cement, mining, glass manufacturing and pharmaceutical applications requiring oil-free air.
Portable Meter Measures Trace Dissolved Hydrogen in Water
Seika Machinery offers the DH-35A portable dissolved hydrogen meter, an analytical instrument designed to measure trace concentrations of dissolved hydrogen in water for industrial monitoring and laboratory analysis.
The meter measures dissolved hydrogen concentrations from 0 parts per billion to 10 parts per million using a membrane-type polarographic electrode. It provides a 90% response within 30 seconds and includes a manually selected measurement range and automatic temperature compensation from 5° to 40°C.
The instrument supports atmospheric calibration without hydrogen standard gas, as well as electric zero, nitrogen gas and hydrogen standard gas calibration methods. A drip-proof design and flow cell intended to limit interference from external air support on-site measurements. The meter operates on six C-size alkaline batteries or an AC adapter and includes a 0-to-1-V analog output for each measurement range to connect with external recording equipment.
The portable meter is designed for thermal and nuclear power plants, corrosion testing facilities and industrial water quality monitoring applications.
Butterfly Valves Feature Molded-In Liner
Nibco introduced a molded-in liner for its LD-2000 Series ductile iron butterfly valves, available in sizes from 14 to 36 inches to improve sealing consistency and simplify installation.
The valves provide bi-directional and dead-end isolation for commercial and industrial applications, with pressure ratings up to 200 psi. The molded-in liner is designed to improve sealing integrity and reduce field installation challenges in full-pressure, end-of-line service.
The valves feature an epoxy-coated ductile iron body for corrosion resistance, an extended neck that accommodates up to 2 inches of insulation and a one-piece, high-strength stem designed for precise disc positioning.
The updated valve design is intended for commercial mechanical systems and general utility service where reliable isolation and long-term operation are required.
600-Gallon Pressure Vessel Rated for 300-psi Service
Charles Ross & Sons introduced a 600-gallon ASME pressure vessel designed for high-pressure processing and storage applications, with a rating of 300 psi at 200°F.
Fabricated from SA516 Grade 70 carbon steel, the vessel is designed and built to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 requirements. Its cylindrical shell measures 4 feet in diameter by 6 feet seam-to-seam and features 2:1 elliptical heads. The vessel undergoes hydrostatic testing before shipment to verify pressure integrity.
A flanged head provides access to the interior for inspection, cleaning and maintenance. Guide rods assist with head removal, while a center-mounted lifting flange supports handling during servicing. Process connections include a 10-in. raised-face slip-on flange with a blind flange, instrumentation ports and threaded inlet, outlet and gauge connections.
The vessel features ground interior welds, sandblasted interior surfaces and a primed exterior. Carbon steel saddle supports and lifting lugs facilitate installation and handling in industrial processing environments.
Cabinet Cooler Systems Protect Electrical Enclosures in Hazardous Areas
Exair introduced dual hazardous-location cabinet cooler systems designed to prevent overheating in large electrical enclosures exposed to explosive gases or combustible dust.
The systems use two cabinet coolers to distribute cold air throughout oversized enclosures, including control panels and motor control centers. Cooling capacity reaches 5,600 Btu/hr. The systems are UL tested for hazardous locations and designed for Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F and G; and Class III environments.
Each system mounts through standard electrical knockouts to preserve enclosure integrity and includes an automatic drain filter separator to prevent moisture from entering the enclosure. Optional electronic temperature controls are available.
The coolers have no moving parts or refrigerants to maintain, reducing routine maintenance requirements. They are designed for industrial electrical enclosures requiring cooling in classified areas where conventional air conditioning may be unsuitable.
