High-ranking White House and U.S. government officials, along with industrial cybersecurity experts from the International Society of Automation (ISA), will speak at a free seminar Feb. 21 examining the details surrounding the implementation of the recently launched U.S. Cybersecurity Framework.
The seminar, co-sponsored by the Alabama Technology Network and ISA’s sister organization, the Automation Federation, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, Ala.
The seminar is the first of a series of nationwide meetings designed to educate U.S. industrial and manufacturing leaders and operators of critical infrastructure on the importance of implementing the Cybersecurity Framework and its key components, which include industrial automation and control system (IACS) security standards developed by ISA.
Featured speakers include Samara Moore, director of cybersecurity critical infrastructure protection at the White House; Adam Sedgewick, senior information technology policy adviser at the National Institute of Standards and Technology: Steve Mustard, an ISA99 Security Standards Committee member; and Gerald Wilbanks, a former ISA president.
