Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) signed a Collaboration Agreement during the recent IGRC 2014 meetings in Copenhagen, Denmark. GTI is a U.S. research, development and training organization serving energy and environmental markets, focused on increasing energy supply, improving energy delivery and using energy more efficiently and in a cleaner manner. KOGAS is an LNG importer and the owner and operator of four world-scale LNG regasification terminals and an over 4,200 km span of nationwide transmission pipeline networks.
The organizations have aligned interests and areas of focus and will cooperate and collaborate on energy research and development, education and training and information sharing. The initiative could include mutual assistance for technology development, technical consulting, joint research efforts and development of training programs, among other efforts, in topics ranging from unconventional gas supply to energy infrastructure and efficient energy utilization.
