One of the most well-known names in chemistry throughout history was Swedish chemist and engineer Alfred Nobel. The inventor of dynamite, Nobel also founded the Nobel Prize before his death in 1895, awarded to "those who, during the preceding year, have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind." The Nobel Prize in Chemistry is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm, Sweden. Here’s a look back at the last nine winners.
