CFATS Legislation Update & Happy Holidays

It's been quite a year in the chemical industry. As we look forward to 2012, I wanted to take a moment to remember some of the highlights from 2011, like proposed legislation for CFATS (Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards) , the Ammonium Nitrate Security Program and also Australia's published list of risky chemicals. Just last week, under the omnibus appropriations bill, CFATS, in its current form has been extended through October 4, 2012. We hope that you have found my contributions and those of guest bloggers to be of value.

He provides security education to CFATS and MTSA-affected companies and is a member of the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA), Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Associates (SOCMA), Energy Security Council (ESC) and American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). Loughin has also completed multiple levels of CVI Authorized User training (Chemical- Terrorism Vulnerability Information) which was authored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
