ACC Encouraged By EPA Action On 'Boiler' Rule

May 3, 2010

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) says it is encouraged by the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed regulatory requirements for emissions from natural gas industrial, commercial and institutional boilers and process heaters.

According to a press release, ACC has not had the opportunity to review the details of the proposed rules, but states it appreciates EPA's acknowledgement that add-on controls for natural gas units would be prohibitively expensive  -- more than $14 billion.
