The Chemical Safety Library is in for a boost. CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, signed an agreement with Pistoia Alliance to host and develop the library, according to an article from Chemicals Technology. The Chemical Safety Library is a community crowd-sourced database of hazardous reaction incidents launched by the Pistoia Alliance in 2017.
The library reportedly serves as a repository for scientists to confidentially share hazardous reaction information from their labs with the aim of improving safety and reducing incidents. According to the article, the partnership will allow CAS, with its vast experience building and managing scientific databases and its technology capabilities, to grow and enhance the library. The Chemical Safety Library will serve as a free resource for the chemical community.
