A recent Reactions video from the American Chemical Society (ACS) puts pheromones to the test. The results? Well, while insects can be lured by scent, humans are not as easily swayed by the perfumes of love. In fact, pheromone-laced colognes are only suited to swine.

So forget shelling out the clams for an expensive scent and set about wooing your mate with witty banter and your knowledge of cooling towers, reaction and synthesis and how to mitigate dust-explosion risks. Check out the video from ACS.
