Pump Optimization for Energy Efficiency and Reliability

May 9, 2025
It’s estimated that 85% of pumps are not optimized to their systems, costing end users both efficiency and reliability. This case study discusses the benefits of hydraulic modifications that optimize pump performance for the system demands.

Optimization of a pump to its system can significantly improve efficiency and reliability. This case study discusses how a chemical plant addressed recurring reliability issues with their boiler feed pumps by providing a hydraulic modification to better match pump performance to system demand.

Highlights of this project include:

  • Analysis of the issues being experienced on-site by low flow operation
  • Ability to modify hydraulic components of existing assets to achieve more reliable performance in lieu of purchasing new equipment
  • Significant reductions in energy usage, providing continuous cost savings
