Siemens Enhances Digital Coriolis Flow Portfolio

Nov. 12, 2017
Siemens enhances digital Coriolis flow portfolio for process optimization.

To extend the advantages of the digital Coriolis flowmeter platform to low-flow applications such as batching, dosing and filling of both liquids and gases, the Sitrans FCT030 and FCT010 digital transmitters can now be paired with the Sitrans F C MASS 2100 and Sitrans FC300 Coriolis sensors for small line sizes from DI 1.5 to DN 15. Users can reportedly realize mass flow accuracy of 0.1%, density accuracy of 0.5 kg/m3 and 100 Hz signal processing. The high-speed update rate ensures the highest precision for applications such as the filling of beverage bottles according to Siemens.

The product scope incorporates larger line sizes often employed by oil and gas, marine, and chemical operations. Already available in sizes DN 15 to DN 80, the Sitrans FCS400 sensor program now includes sizes DN 100 and DN 150. The FCS400 portfolio is suitable for a broader spectrum of applications ranging from OEM skids and control loops in the hygienic industries to on/offshore custody transfer, bunkering and bulk chemical measurement. The compact FCS400 features a robust frame immune to process noise and a variety of customizable process connectors for standard, hygienic and NAMUR applications.

The FCT030 now offers a wall-mount enclosure that enables remote configurations complemented by the option for Modbus or PROFIBUS DP/PA digital communication, a suitable protocol for processes requiring fast data exchange. The fully graphical human-machine interface (HMI), which features an intuitive menu structure and multiple setup wizards, is redesigned with an easier-to-navigate layout. The innovative SensorFlash microSD card is enriched with an advanced data logging and audit trail feature, which automatically stores up to 100 records per log of process parameters, diagnostic parameters or changes made to device settings. This function allows operators to analyze the performance of each process and address any potential issues.
