Low-Power Switches Use Rare Metal Contacts

Contact points provide low electrical resistance but are unyielding to corrosion.

SOR has developed a new low-power switch option to accommodate lower currents and voltages. The company’s new low-power switches feature contact points made from a rare metal instead of common steel. The metal offers extremely low electrical resistance but is unyielding to corrosion.

The new options enhance SOR’s existing 1500 series level switches, designed for harsh environments and process materials where rugged components are critical. They offer pressure from vacuum to 1500 psi; temperature from 40 degrees below zero Fahrenheit; complete isolation of the process from the switch; and horizontal switches that are able to be oriented for high- or low-level action.
