Watson-Marlow Bredel high-pressure hose pump handle petrochemicals

Watson-Marlow Bredel, the leading manufacturer of peristaltic pumps, introduces the PetroProof pump, the first industrial high-pressure hose pump able to pump petrochemicals such as hydrocarbons and oils. The PetroProof pump utilizes a new, proprietary oil-resistant hose material that serves as an alternative to commonly used rubber with very short lifetimes.

PetroProof hoses are available for a range of Watson-Marlow Bredel pump types, including: SP/10, SP/15, SP/20 and SP/25. With Watson-Marlow Bredel's hose pumps, the product does not come into contact with any metal or moving pump parts, thus making them ideal for handling abrasive as well as corrosive products.

Finite element modeling (FEM) was used to design the various PetroProof hose sizes, ensuring maximum performance under a range of service loads. PetroProof hoses are optimized for compression force, internal pressure and expected lifetime.

With no valves or seals to clog, PetroProof hose pumps require minimal maintenance, resulting in reduced downtime, providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional diaphragm, progressive cavity and rotary lobe pumps. Every Watson-Marlow Bredel peristaltic pump is an inherent metering pump with repeatability at 99.5%.  Many models include integral digital drives and displays in washdown enclosures.  These self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates from 0.1 microliter to 350 gpm, and are extremely durable, withstanding pressures up to 232 psi. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners, or glands to impede flow, and these pumps are reversible for back flushing lines. They can also run dry indefinitely without damage and provide up to a 30' suction lift.
