Lubrizol Renames Chemical Compatibility Testing Program

The program has grown to include nearly 100 products, such as leak detectors, firestops and thread sealants.

The Lubrizol Corp. has renamed its FGG/BM/CZ System Compatible Program the FBC System Compatible Program. The program is said to eliminate questions regarding the chemical compatibility of various ancillary products with the company’s FlowGuard Gold, BlazeMaster and Corzan piping products.

Launched in 2002, the program includes a formal chemical testing and verification process. The program has grown to include nearly 100 products, such as leak detectors, firestops and thread sealants, which may be used on the jobsite in conjunction with FBC piping products.

In order to qualify for the special mark, ancillary product manufacturers must first become an FBC System Compatible licensee by signing an agreement ensuring that only those products proven compatible will be labeled as such. The licensees must further agree not to reformulate their products without first re-testing for chemical compatibility with FBC piping products.
