Brookfield Provides Hands-On Training for Viscosity Measurement

April 14, 2014
Courses have been designed to help users understand the functionality of their instrument.

Brookfield now offers two hands-on courses, the Practical Course on Viscosity Measurements and the Lab Day/Advanced Viscosity Test Methods, at its headquarters in Middleboro, Mass., and in major cities across the U.S. On-demand courses will take place at the customer’s facility or at Brookfield’s headquarters.

These courses have been designed to help users understand the functionality of their instrument, solve the mysteries of fluid behavior and create successful and repeatable viscosity test methods for use in both research and development as well as quality control.

The Practical Course on Viscosity Measurements is a one-day course designed to help users best utilize their Brookfield viscometer and rheometer measurements by providing them with information, activities and techniques they can easily understand and use. Discussion topics include how to pick a spindle/speed combination as well as calibration and verification checks. This course has been designed for beginner to intermediate users.

The lab day is a one-day advanced course that focuses on the customer’s interests, formulations and processing problems. Attendees are encouraged to bring samples that will be reviewed to determine “best-practice” methodology for making viscosity and related rheological measurements including yield stress, shear rate ramps, viscosity vs. temperature profiles, creep and viscoelastic behavior. This course is offered at our facility in Middleboro or at the customers’ location.  This course is geared toward intermediate to advanced users.
