DHS And Chemical Sector Coordinating Council Host Security Summit

The 11th Annual Chemical Sector Security Summit will be held July 19-21 in Houston, Texas at the JW Marriott.

The Department of Homeland Security and the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council announce the 11th Annual Chemical Sector Security Summit July 19-21 in Houston, Texas. The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is a member of the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council and SOCMA Managing Director of Government Relations Robert F. Helminiak will give closing remarks at this year's event.

The Chemical Sector Security Summit provides a venue to meet with agency and industry officials and learn the latest updates and information that directly impacts the safety and security of U.S. chemical facilities. DHS officials will also address questions regarding retiering and other efforts that have been implemented throughout the year.

"The Department of Homeland Security is pleased to host this year's Chemical Sector Security Summit in Houston, Texas," says Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary David Wulf. "By taking this important gathering to a major hub for the chemical sector, we can better facilitate in-person participation and the growing public-private partnership. Through an ongoing collaboration, we are strengthening the safety and security efforts of our nation. 

The Chemical Sector Security Summit brings together industry owners and operators, key government officials, first responders, and law enforcement to engage in face-to-face discussions and share the latest in security best practices. There is no fee to attend the summit, but all participants are required to register.
