Chilworth Global will offer a one-day training course at various locations throughout the year on dust explosion assessment and control.
The courses will take place in Morrisville, N.C., on May 19; St. Louis, on Sept. 22; Lake Charles, La., Nov. 17; and Atlanta on Dec. 6.
This session will be approximately six to seven hours, which includes background information on dust explosion hazard assessment and control. The course is geared toward technical and management personnel from the chemical and processing industries.
The training will prepare attendees for a targeted OSHA dust explosion hazard inspection at their facility. Course participants will learn how to identify the areas that OSHA will focus on in carrying out this type of inspection, according to Chilworth. Upon completion of the course, attendees should be proficient in inspection preparation and be able to address any issues that may arise or to mitigate hazards that may currently exist prior to the arrival of the inspector.
Chilworth Senior Process Safety Specialist Steven Luzik will speak at the session. Luzik has more than 30 years of experience in the area of fire and explosion hazards including gas/vapor explosions, dust explosions and fire and explosion protection strategies.
