Eni, Saipem Evaluate Biofuels Project

Eni Spa and Saipem SPA signed an agreement Nov. 6 to evaluate potential projects aimed at expanding Eni’s capacity to produce biofuels, including sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, Oil & Gas Journal reports. Eni Sustainable Mobility and Saipem will study the possible construction of new plants and the conversion of existing refineries to process biofeedstocks into fuel, Eni said. 

GE Vernova, Duke Energy Developing 100% Green Hydrogen-Fueled Power Plant

GE Vernova said it will partner with Duke Energy’s on a plan to build and operate an end-to-end hydrogen system at Duke Energy’s DeBary plant near Orlando, according to EnergyTech. The plant is scheduled to come online in 2024, providing power to Duke’s customers during times of increased electricity demand. The plant will use Duke Energy’s solar array to operate electrolyzers for the production of green hydrogen.

Global Chemical Production Rises While U.S. Output Remains Steady in September

The Global Chemical Production Regional Index trended higher by 0.6% in September, following a revised 0.6% gain in August, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) reported. In the United States, the U.S. Chemical Production Regional Index was flat in September, following a 0.8% gain in August. Both indices are measured on a three-month moving average basis to reduce month-to-month volatility.
