The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is offering an online course that explores the fundamentals of chemical process scale-up and provides a practical guide to predicting and avoiding common issues to help minimize the risk of unforeseen problems.
The 3-module course, which begins Sept 1. 2023, will identify the main challenges in scale-up and review the key chemical engineering tools required for addressing them. The course will then focus on applying these tools to approach scale-up problems which involve fluid mixing, heat transfer, mass transfer, chemical reactors and particulate processes. Process safety also will be a continuous theme.
Many facilities handle dangerous processes and products on a daily basis. Keeping everything under control demands well-trained people working with the best equipment.
