Total Petrochemicals USA Appoints New CEO

Geoffroy Petit has been appointed CEO of Total Petrochemicals USA, Inc. and vice president of Base Chemicals.  Additionally Petit will serve as the country representative for all Total companies operating in the United States.

Total Petrochemicals USA is headquartered in Houston and produces polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, styrene, base chemicals and transportation fuels. The company has manufacturing facilities in Texas and Louisiana as well as a research and development facility in La Porte, Texas and a refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.

As Country Representative, Petit represents the 16 Total affiliates operating in the U.S.  The Total U.S. affiliated companies have a combined workforce of over 7,000 people in the upstream, downstream and specialty chemicals industries.

Petit previously was responsible for Global Strategy and Services for Total Petrochemicals in Brussels, Belgium. He joined the company in 1984.

Petit is a member of the American Chemistry Council’s Board of Directors.
