EFCE Names Next Lecturer

April 24, 2014
Lecturer also will receive a certificate and a €1,500 cash prize.
The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), Brussels, Belgium, has selected Professor Michael L. Michelsen of the Technical University of Denmark, Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, to deliver its next “Distinguished Lecture.” Prof. Michelsen was chosen in recognition of his outstanding work in the field of thermodynamics, notes the EFCE. He developed algorithms for efficient and fast computation of phase equilibrium for non-ideal mixtures, making the vital connection between thermodynamic calculations and numerical analysis. His algorithms have led to creation of reliable design tools for industry. Michelsen will deliver the 2014 Distinguished Lecture in Thermodynamics and Transport Properties at the 27th Symposium on Applied Thermodynamics (ESAT), which will take place July 6–9, 2014, in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He also will receive a certificate and a €1,500 cash prize.Go here for more details.
