Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull wants to make math and science compulsory through high school to boost STEM literacy.

To boost STEM literacy Down Under, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull wants to make math and science compulsory for students through high school, according to an article from ZDNet. The Australian government reportedly pledged nearly AU$100 million late last year toward improving STEM literacy and helping Australian students prepare for future employment. 

The money pledged will go toward a number of initiatives including an IT summer school and online computing challenges. Teachers too will receive support in advancing a technology-based curriculum. Only about 10% of Australians are STEM qualified, according to the article.
