Ghana’s Minister of Education announces the country’s plan to open six new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) schools this year, according to an article from GhanaWeb. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum reportedly made the announcement during a meet-the-press event to update the country on advances in the educational sector.
The school openings are designed to improve the country’s sciences to humanities ratio in education, according to the article. The country reportedly is also committed to developing 20 STEM centers and a total of 10 STEM senior high schools, which are at various stages of completion.
