The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) moves the 2020 BIO Impact Ag & Environment Conference scheduled for September 21-22 to an online platform instead of convening an in-person event. Earlier this month, BIO convened a BIO Digital event in lieu of its in-person BIO International Convention. BIO IMPACT Digital will adopt many of the same formats.

“Today out of an abundance of caution, we are announcing that the 2020 BIO Impact Ag and Environment Conference will be going fully digital in September,” says Dr. Michelle McMurry-Heath, BIO president and ceo. "While we are disappointed that we will not be able to host BIO Impact in Raleigh, I am excited to build off the success of BIO Digital for this important event."

Taking place over two days, BIO Impact Digital will feature expert-level program content focused on the most pressing topics including climate change, sustainability, the bioeconomy, international development and how COVID is impacting our industry’s work in each of these areas. Panels will be a mix of live and on-demand sessions. BIO Impact Digital will also feature BIO’s One-on-One Partnering system, which allows attendees to schedule virtual meetings using their preferred methods –teleconference, video or another medium – to maximize their business developing and partnering potential.

“There has never been a more important time to shine a light on the science that is truly making our world more resilient by improving our food security in sustainable ways, protecting our environment and facilitating breakthroughs in green energy and biobased manufacturing," says McMurry-Heath.

In February, BIO renamed the BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology to the BIO Impact Ag & Environment Conference to better represent the influence biotech innovations have across the agriculture and environment sectors.
