Experts Remain Watchful About Chemical Industry Momentum

Several factors could dampen industry growth.

Strength across automotive and construction sectors, strategic growth measures and investment on capacity expansion point to growth for the chemical industry, according to an article from Zacks. Despite this momentum, however, there are still reasons to be watchful in the near-term.

Among these factors, according to the article, are continued worries about a slowdown in China and sluggishness in some European economies along with uncertainties around Brexit and Trump’s trade policies. Other potential areas for concern reportedly include a still challenging agrichemical space, subdued demand in the energy sector and commodity pricing.
