The HAZCOM Song Has A Good Beat And Champions Safety

I'm not the biggest fan of Twitter. To me, it's too busy and it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. But sometimes you can find something useful.

One of Chemical Processing's followers (maddie273) posted a link to his very catchy tune about HAZCOM. The author wrote the song in March 2011 about the United States OSHA HAZCOM program. Written to the tune "The Thing" by Phil Harris (1950s), the song starts out with a potential bang:

One of Chemical Processing's followers (maddie273) posted a link to his very catchy tune about HAZCOM. The author wrote the song in March 2011 about the United States OSHA HAZCOM program. Written to the tune "The Thing" by Phil Harris (1950s), the song starts out with a potential bang:

"I strolled into receiving one dry cold sunny day
Packages and boxes in total disarray
They had no HMIS labels or identifying marks
I got out of there with the BOOM BOOM BOOM to avoid the sparks."

With clever lyrics and funny images to accompany the song, it's certainly worth it to invest 3 minutes and 49 seconds to watch the entire video.

And you may even learn something. For example, another lyric talks about the start of HAZCOM:

"Hazcom became a law in the 1980s
Reagan was the bossman and I was making babies
The main focus is the worker’s right to know
So everything is labeled from head right down to toe."
