The Infrastructure Security Compliance Division (ISCD) recently announced that it had completed its 1000th CFATS Compliance Assistance Visit (CAV).
ISCD began conducting CAVs in 2007 to provide regulated, or potentially regulated facilities, with technical assistance regarding the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program. CAVs generally involve an on-site visit from one to two ISCD chemical security inspectors.
They are often scheduled to assist facilities with Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) submissions (i.e., Top-Screens, Security Vulnerability Assessments, etc.) or following a facility’s request for re-determination to verify a claim that it has made a material modification to its operations.

Ryan Loughin is Director of Petrochemical & Energy Solutions for the Advanced Integration division of ADT- www.adtbusiness.com/petrochem.
