Series Offers Edgy Look At Women In Science

April 23, 2014

If you've spent any time on Facebook, you've probably come across the page "I F*cking Love Science." It's loaded with great science-related content delivered with a snarky attitude. It's right up my alley. And I'm no stranger to cussing, so the name of the page is just fine by me. Apparently, I'm not alone – there 12 million other fans.

If you've spent any time on Facebook, you've probably come across the page "I F*cking Love Science." It's loaded with great science-related content delivered with a snarky attitude. It's right up my alley. And I'm no stranger to cussing, so the name of the page is just fine by me. Apparently, I'm not alone – there are 12 million other fans.

Anyhow, the founder of the page, Elise Andrew, has teamed up with LabX Media, the Scientista Foundation and Mettler Toledo to deliver the Women in Science Interview Series.

The first interview is with Dr. Elodie Ghedin, a McArthur Fellow and a Professor of Biology and Public Health at New York University.

According to Elodie, her first lab consisted of rabbit bones and was housed in her grandmother's basement. She also wishes someone told her to learn to love math. Learn more about this influential scientist by watching the video. Enjoy!

Oh, and here's the I F*cking Love Science page.
