Chemical Processing Menu Revamp Serves Improvements

July 22, 2013
Feedback helps us create a better user experience.

Continuous improvement isn't just for manufacturers. We are always tweaking and tinkering with ChemicalProcessing.com to make it a better experience for you. If you've visited our site recently, you might have been part of the process. We have been asking visitors to provide inputs about their experiences on the site via a pop-up survey that appears in the bottom-right corner. The data we collect from these surveys give insights about what we should change or improve. We swap out surveys often so we can get feedback on a variety of issues.

Based on one of the questions, we recently renamed a few tabs on our menu bar and moved links around to make it more intuitive for the user. In some cases, the same link appears under several tabs. The Talk To Us tab (it used to be called Community) houses links to our social media offerings, our blogs, Ask the Experts, Cartoon Gallery and Process Puzzler. We also have a dedicated tab for Ask The Experts, which takes you right to the landing page for access to the nearly 30 topics covered by our experts.

Another tab we've added is News, which features industry news and vendor news. We've also created a Vendor Info tab that has links to our events calendar, case studies, company profiles, industry shows, company and product literature, vendor videos and another access point to vendor news. In addition, you can go to our products page via a link under this tab. And in an effort to put information right where you need it, we've created a dedicated tab on the menu bar for Products.

We changed the old whitepapers tab into the eSource Library. Here you will find whitepapers, special reports, eHandbooks and our Reliability-Centered Maintenance link that points toward PDFs that explain basic concepts, principles, definitions and applications for logically developing efficient scheduled (preventative) maintenance programs for complex equipment, and the ongoing management of such programs.

The menu bar is available on all pages of the site so you have a roadmap with you at all times. If you want to jump back to our homepage, simply click the home tab or the Chemical Processing logo in the top left corner.

The beauty of the web is that nothing is set in stone. We will continue to update and improve our site to bring you a better user experience. We will continue to query you via our pop-up surveys and we hope you provide candid feedback on what you find useful and your suggested enhancements.

To quote management guru Tom Peters, "Almost all quality improvement comes via simplification of design, manufacturing... layout, processes, and procedures."
