Video: 3-D Printer Produces Molecules

As if 3-D printing wasn’t already cool enough, now you can print molecules.

According to Vincent Scalfani of the University of Alabama, and star of the latest American Chemical Society Breakthrough Science video, not only can you create fun trinkets to put on your desk, but you can really learn from them. And there are no limits to the complexity of molecules that you get with the traditional ball-and-stick kits.

Scalfani and others have created a public database that houses 30,000 printable 3-D crystal structures. Check out the video below to learn more.
