The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is accepting nominations for members to serve on the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH).
NACOSH was established under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise the secretaries of labor and health and human services on occupational safety and health programs and policies.
OSHA seeks to fill all 12 committee positions, which consist of four public representatives and two representatives each for labor, management and professionals in occupational safety and in occupational health.
The health and human services secretary will designate four of these representatives for appointment by the secretary of labor: two public, one occupational health professional and one occupational safety professional. To create staggered terms, the secretary of labor will appoint six members to serve a two-year term and six to a three-year term. In the future, all members will go back to serving two-year terms.
