NSC And OSHA Renew Partnership

Sept. 29, 2014
The National Safety Council and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration renewed their alliance to foster safer and healthier workplaces.

The National Safety Council (NSC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) renewed their alliance to foster safer and healthier workplaces. Their focus will include addressing temporary and contract workers, motor vehicle safety, construction safety and the importance of establishing injury and illness prevention programs. They also agreed to support and promote the new Journey to Safety Excellence campaign from the Council.

Through the alliance, the organizations will partner to distribute information on OSHA regulatory and enforcement initiatives, and develop best practice documents and outreach materials on hazard control, safety management systems and other relevant safety topics. They will speak and exhibit at each other’s conferences and meetings, and will explore options to evaluate the effectiveness of the alliance and measure its impact on improving worker safety.

The NSC alliance with OSHA was most recently renewed in August 2012, and it will remain in effect for five years.
