The PLC capability allows engineers using a temperature controller along with a mini/micro PLC in an application to obtain the same control functionality in one package at the cost of just the controller.

Yokogawa Corporation of America has released three additions to its UTAdvanced temperature controller product line. The UP55A and UP35A profile controllers and the UM33A digital indicator with alarms. These products will replace the UP550, UP350 and UM330 products, which are a part of the Green Series.

Significant changes in the marketplace are demanding control instrumentation be easier to use while at the same time more capable. The UTAdvanced addresses this by balancing a controller with the power to handle challenging applications. The UTAdvanced Hybrid Controller takes the PID control and combines it with embedded ladder sequence control. The ladder sequence control will be standard in all UTAdvanced models (except the UM33A) at no cost.

It supports 84 ladder commands and a variety of analog and digital I/O points. Up to 500 ladder steps can be programmed and run together with the PID control. The PLC capability allows engineers using a temperature controller along with a mini/micro PLC in an application to obtain the same control functionality in one package at the cost of just the controller.

UTAdvanced features include full text scrolling configuration prompts, three configuration levels, user defined function keys, user settable default values for OEMs and multiple language support for English, Spanish, German and French. Other features include a NEMA 4/IP56 front panel, USB powered configuration tool with software, fuzzy logic, universal inputs/outputs and a three-year warranty. Communication platforms include ethernet, DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, CC-Link and RS485.
