ABB has released the latest version of its IndustrialIT cpmPlus Smart Client, a thin client for System 800xA. This release includes enhancements for expanded visibility of alarms and events, improved navigation and streamlined access to all connected plant 800xA systems. Smart Client provides secure, view only browser-based access to multiple plant systems from any network connection, so customers can access and share the information they need, when and where they need it.
Smart Client helps process industry users securely access their ABB or third-party automation systems via an internet browser for real-time visibility into the process. Easy to use and understand, Smart Client requires no programming to configure displays. Unlike other thin clients that require separate data definitions, Smart Client eliminates duplicate engineering effort by using the existing data definitions in System 800xA, saving time and money. It harnesses the power of System 800xA’s single point change management and engineering to provide the data integrity and trusted information needed to accurately assess production status and potential situations. Smart Client accesses and presents actual live data from where it resides in the system.
The latest version of Smart Client includes improved alarm and event display functionality, so that users quickly identify the root cause of problems. This release makes it easy to navigate to the real-time alarm and event status from the data values on the user’s role-based dashboard, where all information is displayed in a meaningful context. Smart Client provides the up-to-the-minute production information needed to make the informed decisions that ultimately lead to operational improvement.
