Tovatech’s portable FlowCal 5000 digital liquid flow meter reportedly eliminates manual calibration of HPLC pump systems by volumetrically measuring and recording solvent exiting from HPLC systems. It is compatible with all HPLC brands, according to the company.
Each new FlowCal 5000 measurement refreshes the reading on the flow meter’s liquid crystal display. The small volume of the sensing tube enables very low flow rates, down to 50µL/min, to be measured accurately. Data can be transferred to a PC or printer for archiving. Consistent readings indicate that the HPLC pump is operating correctly, according to the company. A variance signals that there may be a leak or other malfunction that requires attention.
