Nouryon announces the completion of its latest production facility constructed to meet increasing global demand for sustainable chelates for the rapidly growing consumer cleaning industry. The start-up of the new site in Herkenbosch, Netherlands is expected in the second quarter of 2022, according to the company.
“Nouryon continues to prioritize investments in sustainable solutions that offer high renewable content without sacrificing performance,” says Larry Ryan, executive vice president and president, performance formulations and the Americas at Nouryon. “As a strategic market for Nouryon, home and personal care is seeing a big shift in demand from traditional petroleum-based solutions to biodegradable options and we have a global manufacturing footprint to support it.”
The new production facility will double the company’s Dissolvine green chelates capacity by supplying Dissolvine M or MGDA (methylglycine N,N-diacetic trisodium salt), Dissolvine GL or GLDA (glutamic acid, N,N-diacetic tetrasodium salt) and other essential ingredients to a variety of multinational and regional customers. The site will complement the company’s existing plants in Ningbo, China, and in Ohio (U.S.).
Dissolvine chelating products are derived from natural, renewable sources and are readily biodegradable, according to Nouryon.
