The American Chemistry Council (ACC) approved Viridis Chemical as a new member organization on June 7.
Verdis, a manufacturer of renewable biobased chemicals, will participate in ACC’s Responsible Care program, the company said in a June 12 news release.
Viridis’ first product is biobased ethyl acetate, which is derived from bio-ethanol feedstock, according to the company.
Viridis Chemical's ethyl acetate is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)-certified, biobased product, according to the company. Traditionally, ethyl acetate has been manufactured from fossil-based resources.
