 A U.S. District Judge sentences Lisa Gordon-Scruggs to 36 months in prison, followed by one year of supervised release, for filing a false tax return, according to WXXV25.com. Gordon-Scruggs was the chief operating officer and office manager of Highside Chemicals, Inc. in Gulfport, Mississippi from 2013 through 2018.

In addition to the prison sentence, Gordon-Scruggs is ordered to pay restitution of $593,379.42 to the Internal Revenue Service, according to the article. Gordon-Scruggs reportedly funneled over $2 million from the company into her accounts and used the funds to pay off credit cards in her name and that of a family member.
