AkzoNobel Names Jakeman CTO

He succeeds Klaas Kruithof, who retired July 1, 2022.

Roger Jakeman

Roger Jakeman is appointed as AkzoNobel’s chief technology officer (CTO), succeeding Klaas Kruithof, who retired July 1, 2022. In his new role, Jakeman reportedly will lead the company’s research and development (R&D) function, driving the company’s innovation and sustainability agenda. He will also continue to head up the Product Management Center of Excellence. 

After graduating with a DPhil. in Chemistry from Oxford University, Jakeman held various technical and marketing roles during his 35-year career. He joined AkzoNobel in 2008 following the acquisition of ICI. During the last five years, he led AkzoNobel’s technical organization and successfully implemented the company’s R&D transformation program, according to the company.
