Dechema Names Winner of Inaugural Bioprocessing Award

Honor recognizes young researcher for industrially relevant work.

The German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (Dechema), Frankfurt, has announced the winner of its first Industrial Bioprocess Award. Cees Harringa of the Technical University of Delft, Delft, the Netherlands, was recognized for his PhD thesis “Through the organism’s eyes — The interaction between hydrodynamics and metabolic dynamics in industrial-scale fermentation processes.” He received the honor, which includes a €5,000 (about $6,000) prize, at the annual Himmelfahrtstagung event in Magdeburg, Germany, on May 8th, 2018.

The new award aims to recognize young researchers doing superior quality work that has high industrial relevance.
