The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation releases the August 2018 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry.

The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation (the Foundation) releases the August 2018 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry (MCI-EFI). Overall, confidence in the equipment finance market eased again in August to 60.7, down from the July index of 62.8. Designed to collect leadership data, the index reports a qualitative assessment of both the prevailing business conditions and expectations for the future as reported by key executives from the $1 trillion equipment finance sector.

MCI-EFI survey respondent Paul Menzel, CLFP, president and CEO, Financial Pacific Leasing, Inc., an Umpqua Bank Company, says, “’Uncertainty’ is the theme in the economy for the balance of 2018. Between the administration's trade strategy, the mid-term elections and the President's political challenges, decision makers are taking a wait-and-see approach to business investment.”
