The National Safety Council is accepting nominations for four prestigious awards that honor individuals and organizations with steadfast commitment to the safety of colleagues, families and communities. Winners model safety excellence and a dedication to continuous improvement.

“Nominees will understand that keeping each other safe is more than a goal, it is a mindset,” says Deborah A.P. Hersman, president and CEO of the National Safety Council. “We are proud to recognize exemplary contributions to making our world safer at work, at home and everywhere in between.”

Nominations are being accepted for the following four awards:

· Distinguished Service to Safety Award: Presented to individuals who have displayed exemplary efforts and successes in improving safety and health at work, in homes and communities and on the roads

· Marion Martin Award: Established in 2016, this award honors women who have achieved success in safety while empowering other women.

· Rising Stars of Safety: Given to individuals younger than 40 who have proven track records of safety leadership and have promoted continuous safety improvement at their organizations

· NSC Community Advancement Award: New in 2017, this award will be presented to employers dedicated to health and safety of employees and community members on and off the job.

Applications will be accepted through May 5, 2017. Winners will be formally recognized during the NSC Congress & Expo in Indianapolis in September.
